Lede
Superformance was founded in 1996 as Superformance International Inc. by Hi-Tech Automotive, Ltd. It is the only manufacturer licensed by Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. to build Cobra reproductions, putting it in a regulated tier above unlicensed replica makers. Cars are built in South Africa at the Hi-Tech Automotive factory — the same facility that has produced Shelby American continuation cars in some periods — and are sold turn-key minus drivetrain.
